Adding Media Problems

Since upgrading to 4.3.1. I can’t upload pictures successfully. Go through usual route of Media, Upload, choose picture (which I’ve already resized for web)upload. In the library it shows as a blank square in grid layout and blank white thumbnail in list. Can’t find picture to insert in pages or posts. But it is there if you click on the ‘blank’ and go edit. What am I not doing?
