Adding Media in the post editor with a thumbnail size defined in functions.php

Hello,

When I click to add media in the post editor, I only get the size options that are listed in ‘settings>media’ I have sizes that I use that are defined in functions.php for post-thumbnails that I want to use instead. How can I enable these to be used in the editor?
