    Hi,

yesterday i activated the Google Maps Javascript API Key.

But unfortunately it is not possible to add markers, i’m getting the following error message:
Geocode was not successful for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED

Do you have any ideas, why this happens?

The only thing i can imagine is, that i did not add the domain to the settings in the google admin panel. But it says that this is optional and it should be optional for me, because i will add tons of sites and dont want to add each domain..

    Thanks for your help, Martin

  • We’re having the exact same issue on our sites.

    Try this:
1.- Disable and re-enable the Google Maps Geocoding API.
2.- Add an * instead of a domain in the referrers field.

No luck. I’ve noticed that on my map page that there is a Google Maps API not activated error.

I triple checked my API settings and nothing stood out except that the domain is different between what the plugin is calling from what Google recommends.

The plugin is calling “https://maps.google.com/maps/api/*” where as the docs say to call “https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/”.

    Hi there.

@martin. Please confirm you have the Geocoding API enabled in your project?

@picaporte. Thank you for your feedback.

@nvarra. I can’t seem to replicate this on my side, can you possibly change the URL’s to the API calls and let me know if this makes a difference?

The Pro plugin update that was available when I arrived at the office this morning corrected the issue. ??

Amazing support of your plugin. Just so that everyone knows, we had a ticket open for the Pro version add-on and the communication was quick and excellent. Thanks again.
