• I tried adding links in a post using HTML but when you view the post, you see the URL not clickable text. I just started using wordpress yesterday and can’t find this in the FAQ Thanks bunches!

  • Turn off the wysiwyg editor to post html.
    2 things to look for:

admin -> Users -> scroll to bottom left and uncheck box for visual rich editor.

admin -> Options -> Writing -> under “formatting” make sure the box is unchecked for “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”

    Samboll,

I did as you advised. The surplus html that would get inserted no longer gets inserted, but the link still doesn’t ‘publish’ as a link.

The coding is the default UTF8. But, I’m using Mac OS 9, which doesn’t really handle UTF8. (At least not as well as it should). But I’m not real sure about changing to a different text encoding. Any advice? (Open to anyone with information.)
