adding links to images

So here is my new “obsession”. I have successfully replaced the header title and description with my logo. I have also added my image slider to flick between images. What I want to do now is link these images to my home page as well as other pages. I found this https://blog.brian-fitzgerald.net/css-hack-creating-a-link-to-a-background-image#.VBRaQfldWSo which was helpful. However, when I follow the instructions the link appears under my logo. I imagine the whole point is to have the text in the same bounding box as my logo and have it appear invisible. Here is my page https://ibsoft.com.ng I have removed those lines of code currently.
