adding link to a PDF doc?

  • I am new to having a website in wordpress. I want, on one of my pages, to add a link to a PDF document. I am not sure how to do that because when I go to add a link, I need a URL for the thing I am linking and I don’t know how to get a URL from my PDF document. Any advice?

  • I’m guessing this is a PDF that you uploaded? Is that right?

    If you uploaded via the WordPress Media Uploader you can go to the media library, find the PDF, click ‘edit’, and read the url from the File URL field. If you uploaded via FTP then you will need to manually work out the path. Its not that hard but it would be easier to explain if you tell me the path you FTPed the file into.

    honestly, i am pretty new at this and i looked around trying to figure out where to upload it and i didn’t find anything…. i was unsure of where to do it… so i’ll give a try using what you’re talking about as see if i can do it!
