Adding lightbox to featured image

  • Hi I want to do something that I thought would be quite simple but is proving tricky.

    Does anyone out there know of a plugin that will create a lightbox effect on featured images? So I have my thumbnail featured image and once this is clicked it will enlarge with a lightbox effect. Or is there any way of doing this manually (as a last resort)?

  • Presentation of the featured image is done by your theme.
    there are lots of lightbox plugins, find one install it, then you may need to add rel=”lightbox” to the html code in your theme.

    A straight simple answer is tough since there are so many variables here, especially related to your theme.

    I forgot to mention, I have used my own custom theme….so can this still be done?
