Adding images to blog post/media library takes minutes per image

When trying to add images to a blog post or to the media library, the images take a ridiculously long time to load now. (This never used to happen.)

Images, all sized appropriately at 300kb or less take minutes to upload. This is per image.

Any idea why this slow upload time is occurring? It’s really become frustrating and has totally slowed down my workflow.
