Adding Images in 2.6.5 – No Multiple Selections

Since upgrading to 2.6.5 I am unable to upload images as before. First, 2.6.5 no longer works when clicking the “Choose files to upload” button. I click it and nothing happens. Thus, I tried the other option: “You are using the Flash uploader. Problems? Try the Browser uploader instead” This option allows me to see my files directory on my hard drive as was formerly the case on the previous WP version with option 1 (the “flash uploader/”choose files to upload” default option). So, with Browser uploader I can upload files but with a restriction, Whereas in the previous WP version I could hold down the cntrl key and make multiple random selections if individual jpgs, “Browser uploader” only permits one selection; ie, select a file upload, wait for upload to finish, select next file, etc, repeat, repeat. Is there a glitch in 2.6.5? It certainly is a step backwards.
