• Hi,
I am new to WordPress and I am attempting to create my first theme.
As I am testing all the functions of wordpress and what they look like, I find I get stuck with adding images to posts.

The VISUAL editor provided by WP is placing the mceTemp div tag around the image and when I want to add another image afterwards or text, I cannot get around the div: anywhere I click in the writing space I can see below it says, “path: mceTemp”, and that makes all the text and images become a part of the first image.

Because I am trying to develop a theme that a simple user could use, I would like to resolve this issue in a way that is smooth. i.e. the user would not even know about this issue and would go about writing with no problem.

I searched all over for a solution but nothing helped.
This is a link to the test blog and the theme I am developing is “themeb”.

  • Why are you trying to wrap a div around the images in the first place?

    That’s the thing!
I DO NOT WANT TO PUT A DIV AT ALL!
It is generated automatically and that’s what I’m trying to get rid of.

What browser are you using? Do you have any add-ons or extensions installed on your browser? I seem to recall some plug-ins and add-ons in Firefox causing these sorts of problems for me in the past.

I checked it in both Firefox and IE8 and I de-activated all my plugins.
It seems to be a feature of the TinyMCE visual editor of WP.

The only way I got around was pressing “Enter” a milion times in my paragraph.

WP doesn’t place div tags around images by default nor does the TinyMCE visual editor.

That’s exactly what brought me to this thread… the same thing was happening to me. I deactivated as many plugins as i possibly could, which didn’t seem to make a difference at first. not too long after, the issue seemed to go away- possibly a browser cache/ history issue? If I figure post more info if I anything else out.
