Adding Image on top Blog Posts Page

I have been searching this for awhile and have found a lot of solutions but not a single one that has worked…

I know that anything I put on a static blog page gets lost, but all I am trying to do is add a simple centered graphic above the blog posts. I have seen a lot of code that people have tried, and either I don’t understand where it is supposed to go or it just doesn’t work with current wordpress versions?

Anyone got any code they add for this purpose? and where would it be added? Please and thank you this has been driving me insane.
