Adding Google Analytics?

I’m trying to add Google Analytics to my site. It says to add their tracking code directly above /body. I added it in stylesheet but it’s not showing up on Google’s end. I have a feeling I’m putting it in the wrong place. I’ve tried putting it above every “body” I could find but still no luck. Can anyone tell me where it needs to go? I have Green Apples theme, if that helps any.
