Adding Google AdSense Leaderboard Ad To News Theme Header

How would I be able to change the header of the theme, News, to fit the 728×90 “Leaderboard” Google AdSense Ad? Currently it won’t show the outer sides of the ad, and I was wondering how I would fix this. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
