Adding Functionality to a Page

I would like to understand whether I can use the Toolset plugin to add functionality to an existing page. I would like to add a dropdown that can be used to present the visitor with a list of PDFs, and I would like this dropdown to exist within the 1st column (right under the text). Would I be able to insert a shortcode that calls that functionality (right under the text) in order to achieve this?
