Adding Flags on the top menu bar (instead of top search menu item)

Hi there, I have searched a lot for some instructions to be able to add some items (language flags) instead of graphene_nav_search, is there any simple method to use to add there qtranslate plugin’s widget(tried hook widgets but still not clear where to edit css) or the following code <?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘both’); ?>
