adding fields in search form of the upTown theme

  • I want to update the searchform.php of the upTown theme that I installed for a real estate blog.
    I want to add fields like minimum and maximum price range, area range, buy or rent, and the like.
    I have added these just as HTML in the searchform.php file, but don’t know how to link these with the database and get them working actually.

    I just have little basic HTML and PHP knowledge!
