Adding extra networks and features

  • Is it possible to add a print icon? (or other networks)? Is there an easy way to do it? I use PrintFriendly for printing web pages, so the functionality is taken care of, all I need is to add the extra icon/print link to the “share” array.

    Yes, you can add new networks. It’s a two step process: 1) add the network to the admin list; and 2) format the URL for the button.

    Here’s an example of how to add an SMS button to the plugin. (Note that this button requires a third function to add SMS to a site’s kses_allowed_protocols, which you should not need.)

    Hope this helps you get started. I’ve not added a print button to the plugin to date because I thought it required JavaScript. If there is a way around that, I’d love to know more.
