Adding extra configuration options to menu items?

  • I am looking hook and/or example how to add additional configuration options to menu items! Could somebody give idea how this done?

    Originally, I had an idea to add option to add dropdown option to add menu icon to menu items and possibly later expand from there to custom megamenu. Now when i did some search i found Menu Item Custom Fields from github and i am trying to check that are there core hooks or actions that would do the same than this hack. You recommended to check out megamenus @tanal3053? Do you have recommendations for those or themes that has integrated menus similar way that i described at the beginning.
