We have a webshop selling food products and currently have the product best before dates typed in the product short description. It would be a lot handier if we could have this in a separate custom field, but I’m not sure how to go about this. Is it possible to display a custom field in the quick edit screen? And add it to the product screen options?
Ideally, we’d love to get some sort of notification when a product is about to reach it’s best before date, and again once it’s out of date.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks!

  • Hi there,

This is understandable. This premium plugin might help you out, it is for food, medicine, drinks, etc.

I hope this provides clarity ??

This is indeed exactly the kind of plug-in we could use ??

So, I installed this plugin, but unfortunately it doesn’t support product bundles or grouped products, and there are not direct plans for this functionality to be added.

Are there any other plugins available that do display dates on bundled or grouped products?

    Hello,

    This is a good question.

I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
