Adding download counter for the download field

Download counters are tricky because it is hard to differentiate between human and non human downloads. Most places where you see a count verify humanity by requiring a credit card number even for a free download.

In general “hit counters” went out of style in the late 90s. The more common way to show social proof now is with a Facebook Like button or Twitter share count.
