Adding Custom Subscription box

I would like to be able to capture email addresses when people to sign up for my free giveaway. I dont know where to do this? I could use either instructions or directions to instructions so that I can add a box to capture email addresses for my list. I am not very good at this kind of thing I have been a point and click guy up until now, any help would be very much appreciated
