Adding custom information to " post tags " ie: beyond name and description

  • I have a wordpress site I’ve set up and it uses tags as it’s ” products ” list.
    Ie: Each product is has been already been given it’s own wordpress tag.
    so the tag cloud basically returns a list of products and you can click it and see all posts about that product.

    basically what I’d like to do is have more than just tag name and descriptions available, I’d just like to add a few fields to the info for post tags,

    I’ve looked into taxonomy and I understand I can build this custom, but since the site is existing I’d like to just add the functionality of adding a custom input to the tag info

    Any help would be appreciated

    I’m pulling my eyes out here…

    I’ve got all my forms for the ” edit tag ” page changed.

    I have manually inserted information intowp_term_taxonomy table via PHPmyAdmin, but I can’t get the info to get into this database table ??

    https://shootersonly.com/gameinfo.png there is an image of what used to be the edit tags page – remember I am using ( or hoping to simply add these fields because I have been using tags as game titles for months )

    how can I get this form to actually put this info into the database/update it etc ??

    PS, if I put the information for say ” game developer” into the database manually via PHP admin, it will show up in that form if I go into the edit tag form page, but it won’t update, or add via the form :/9
