Adding custom field in Invoice

In the free version you can add a custom field either with one of the action hooks or in a custom template: Displaying a custom field (assuming this is a custom field from the order rather than from the product).

And with our paid extensions, you have two options:

• If the field is part of the address you can do this with the Professional extension, using the address format options
• If the field is unrelated to the address you can print a custom field in one of the predefined locations, using the Custom Blocks functionality of our Premium Templates extension.

I’m using a shipping tracking plugin that displaying delivery date and tracking link on notifying email. The author willing to provide date codes.

With a template action hook, how can I put the above said data codes to be displayed on PDF Invoice and Packing slip?

Should I add it in Child-theme?

You can add custom fields with the action hooks or in a custom template. You need some basis code skills to use the two methods a mention before.

You can also use the Premium Templates. With this extension you don’t need to code anything, since it provides a drag & drop Customizer that allows you to custom your invoice adding columns and custom blocks.

I prefer to use free version as it is light weight that just add what I needed.

Can action hooks custom field runs the custom order meta related to the tracking data?
I want the shipping tracking number and shipping date to be printed on Invoice.
