Adding Counter or What's Next to Slider

I hope this is not too confusing. Is there a way to add a counter or a “What’s Next” feature to the Slider so the user knows how many slides there are and what to expect next?

Sometimes I see it as dots at the bottom of the slider that represent how many slides are available.
