Adding Character Limits to Custom Fields (Paid Add-On)

    I purchased the Custom Fields Add-On and I wanted to add character limits to a “Text” field I added to my form.

    I assumed the “Length” fields in the Field Settings were used to add character limits. However, when I added a “1” in the “Min.” field and “140” in the “Max.” field it didn’t limit the amount of characters you can add to the text field.

    1) What value should I entered in the “Min.” and “Max” Length fields if I want to limit the text field to 140 characters?

    2) If the “Length” fields are not how you add character limits, how can I limit the character count in a custom text field?

    Actually, the Min and Max fields in the text field are meant to limit character count, i tested this with the Custom Fields add-on and it seems to be working properly for me, please make sure you are using the correct Form Scheme in the frontend.

    Thanks for your reply. Can you explain what you mean by “make sure you are using the correct Form Scheme in the frontend”?

    Also, can you confirm what value I should enter in the “Min.” and “Max” Length fields if I want to limit the text field to 140 characters? I added a “1” in the “Min.” field and “140” in the “Max.” field. Is that correct?

    The Custom Fields add-on allows creating multiple for schemes for the [adverts_add] form, make sure that the form you are viewing (and trying to validate) is the same one as you are modifying from wp-admin panel, additionally, it is possible that the form scheme is not being loaded.

    Is it possible for you to paste here a link to a page where you are having this problem?

    You seem to be filling the form properly, entering 1 in Min and 140 in Max will force the text to be at least one character long but not longer than 140 characters.
