    Hi,

I am looking for a plugin that does the following:

user types in name, degree, affiliation, email
    email is verifyed
data is entered into a database
if permission for this is granted, data is displayed somewhere on a webpage

speak-out seems to be the perfect plugin for this except that only one additional field is permitted.

Is there a way to extend/adapt the plugin for my task?

    Thanks!

    Stefan

Sorry, but I don’t think this is the right plugin. All you need is a form for people to fill in and they have to verify themselves.

I am not quite sure what you mean by if permission is granted, data is displayed somewhere on a webpage Do you mean if they are verified then they get to see some content? If so, again that is standard form behaviour…after verification they return to a specific page.

Or am I completely missing what you are trying to do?

So Prof. John Doe from Washington Univ comes to this page, fills in all the data and submits the form. His email is veryfied and the data he supplied is displayed on the web-page were we asked for the signature. He states that he is willing not to fly anymore and his name and affiliation is listed on this page, which asks people to sign. It is like the petition scenario. We also want the counter saying how many signed already and how many we want in total. The only functionality we do not need is to send email to somebody with the petition text.

Thanks, I understand what you are after and this plugin doesn’t do that.

For someone with some PHP coding skills this would not be a terribly difficult thing to add to your site. By looking at the source code of /wp-content/plugins/speakout/includes/emailpetition.php one could see the way data is saved and displayed and then add some code.

However it is wise to not edit a plugin itself as future upgrades may over-write your work.

OK. Would you be interested in doing this. We pay. And maybe rename the plugin so that we do not run into update problems. Or make the functionality part of this plugin. As an option.

    Best
