How can I add/edit captions to images within a VP block of tiled images?

When looking at an editing a specific image in the VP block, there is no option to add (or edit) a caption – only title and description fields are available. (I’d would have added a screenshot here for clarity but that doesn’t appear to be an option)

The only fix seems to be to add a caption to the image in the media library itself – but that is very time-consuming to search through the entire media library to find each specific image and create a caption.

VP 2.13.1 on WordPress 5.7.2, access via Firefox 89.0.2 under Windows 10

    Hey.

You can add titles and descriptions to images manually once you add them to the block https://visualportfolio.co/documentation/portfolio-blocks/content-source/images/. By default, these titles and descriptions will be displayed under an image, but you can change the source of these data https://visualportfolio.co/documentation/portfolio-blocks/content-source/images/#images-output-settings.

And for example, in the Classic style, you can toggle settings “Display Title” and “Display Excerpt” https://visualportfolio.co/documentation/portfolio-blocks/items-style/classic/

Thank you but I’m not at all sure that resolves my issue. Let me explain a bit more about the context.

I have a portfolio of pictures (see, for example:
https://rosamundewood.art/galleries/flowers/) where the title of the picture uses the “Image Title” field set in VP to show the title of the artwork. My understanding is that, in theory, that should override the information from the media library item. The “Titles Source” field for the VP block has to be set to “custom” to display that correctly – if I set that field to “Image Title” then the page displays the file name for each image (which I do NOT want).

I want to display the name of the work in the pop-up display but again if i type “Image Title” as the option for “Title Source” the image’s file name gets displayed. At the moment I have to leave the “image Source” as none as a temporary fix.

From experimenting, the only way to get the effect that I want is to use “Image Caption” in the “Title Source” for the pop-up display – but as I said originally, it is hard to search through images in the media library to find the one that you want.
