Adding captions doesn't work

  • All of a sudden, when I try to add a photo with a caption to a post WordPress doesn’t create the [caption][/caption] tags in the post body. It just inserts the photo in img tags.

    The funny thing is it’s worked fine until today.

    I tried switching themes to see if it was a theme problem, but the issue persists in a different theme.

    Is there a way to reset the WordPress image uploader or database or something like that?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
