adding caption text to slideshow in media carousel widget

Is there a way to add text to the slideshow style in the media carousel widget?

Please note that I added CSS code to make my text appear below the image. Following the steps in this blog post, I was able to add text below the image.

While I would still like to have the caption appear beneath the image, I would like it to appear in the “slideshow” style. Is this possible?
