• I don’t know anything about creating codes or editing codes so what I want to do is add blogs to different pages in the easiest way possible for a newbie. I don’t want the sidebar, I want someone to be able to click on a menu name and it show that particular content and sub menu in that particular drop down menu.I have areas for example that show financial info and pages that show recipes. my website is https://www.financialfairy.net.
I don’t know how to edit php and that stuff. appreciate any help you can give me.
    thanks.

  • How do you define the menu items in your theme (ie, does it automatically add pages or does it support the administrative menu option)?

If it supports admin menus, link to the categories for your posts rather than the pages. You’d have a category for recipes, finances, charities, etc. Those category links will automatically show all the content within that category.

When I link a menu to a category, it works except for when someone clicks on the “Read more” for an item on that category page — then all the posts for the entire blog (all categories) are shown together. Maybe it’s my template, not sure. But that’s what’s happening.

I’m trying to use blog categories to separate content on a non-blog-centric website for a service-oriented business. So I have a category for “Specials” and another category for “Latest News”. I may add additional categories for things like “Testimonials”. In any case, I don’t ever want all three categories showing up together in one single (long) blog listing page because it doesn’t make sense and is confusing.
