Adding background image for all pages

I would like to make all of the pages on my website look like the home page currently does, with a large background image that does not move behind a navigation bar and content area (posts and regular pages) that is opaque. I currently have a child theme installed, as well as the Options for Twenty Seventeen Plugin. Can someone help me?
