• Hello! Thanks for a great plugin!

I wonder if it is possible to add another checkout step somehow to be reported to GA4? The step I am interested in reporting in is when customer types in their billing_email.

And I am also noticing that the add_shipping_info is only triggered after users choose a delivery method, not after they actually type in their billing_address or other shipping info to the fields.

I have set “force to customer billing address” in WooCommerce settings.

My checkout is a one-page checkout.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

This is currently only possible if you track this using custom JS codes. This needs to catch the necessary user interaction(s) and fire a GTM event each time to send an event to GA4 for example.

But you need to know that (currently?) there is no such feature in GA4 that replicates the checkout tracking of GA4. You can track the beginning of the checkout with begin_checkout and track shipping and payment method selection using add_shipping_info and add_payment_info.

    Ok, thank you.

Do you mean that there is no feature like that in GA4 as there is in UA?

I tried to search earlier posts, and you were discussing an event that gets triggered when customer types in ANYTHING in any field, some sort of shipping data event. Is this not valid for GA4 or how I have my checkout set up?

    My checkout steps are:

    1. Email/billing fields
    2. Shipping method
    3. Payment method
    4. Place order

So the first step simply gets ignored?
