• i am in the midst of a layout change throughout my entire website, and i would like to be able to incorporate an independent sidebar to my WordPress blog page.

the blog can be accessed here…

…and i would like to be able to leave the basic layout of the blog intact other than adding a sidebar to the blank 200 pixels at the far right. here are two examples of the sidebar i want to use in action on other pages of my site…

..what would be the easiest way to add this element within the framework of WordPress? i would prefer to CSS for positioning.

  • What’s generating that sidebar on the other pages of your site? I’m thinking a php include.

thanks for the reply Joni, and sorry for my own delay in following up.

the sidebar is simply built with CSS elements for positioning and alignment, HTML, and CaRp scripts for parsing RSS feeds to HTML. there is really nothing fancy about it.

but it would seem that all i really need to know is how i can add a single sidebar file containing all that info, and then how i can make it appear on every WordPress page.
