I think some other plugin was causing the error because now I can edit the image. Thank you.

What problem are you having changing the image alignment? To change an image alignment, you click the image and then select the left, right, or center alignment in the top bar for it. This can be done at any time, you don’t need to delete the post and start again.

Hello, I allow myself to intervene to give you an example or I gave up after four hours !:
On a large justified text, try to put an image at the top left of the article, and another at the bottom right surrounded by the text … With the current editor, in less than 10 seconds, I am even able to add one between the two on the right or on the left.
Gutemberg will be a good idea when all layout functions will be accessible, such as in word for example where you can easily build your article as you visualize it in your mind (and at that moment it will be 5 stars).
In the state of things, you can easily make an article with Gutemberg style Title / image / text / column / Basic table succeeding but not overlapping.
I want to believe in Gutemberg, but it must mature before becoming the standard …
For the moment, I have the impression to find myself in front of a big box of LEGO blue and Yellow where one can only fill basics blocks from bottom to top without being able to make green.

Putting an image at the bottom of a text block is indeed not well supported by the current system, but the top left is fairly easy with the existing image blocks.

Realistically, the web isn’t like Word. Styling things to your liking is never going to be fully complete and supported, and themes ultimately have control. You can always use a custom HTML block if you need that level of control. The editor is made to be simple and support the majority of cases, not all possible cases.

Also, tables are extremely poorly supported, and that is being worked on.

    Hello,
I tried to click on the image. Instead, it highlights the entire block. The image is no longer editable. I had this happen on two different themes. It is frustrating.

Can you be more specific about what you mean by “editable”? I’m trying to understand the exact issue and see how to reproduce the problem.

For example, if I make an image left aligned to make the text below it wrap around it, then I can click on it directly. I get draggable bars to resize it, as well as a selection bar at the top to change its alignment there as well:

I doesn’t do that for me. When I click on the image, I do not see the drag bars nor the alignment menu.

Well, that’s obviously not the intended result.

Do you have any error messages in the javascript console?

I don’t know. How do I check the javascript console?

Well, that would depend on your browser and computer. Like on Windows Chrome it is CTRL-SHIFT-J. Might be better to google for that and see how to do it on your own system.

The issue resolved itself (I think after I updated the Yoast Plugin). I’m all good. I’ve changed my review.
