Adding Alt Tags to Images

    Is there a way to retroactively add Alt Tags to the images in roundup lists I made with Create?

    I added an Alt Tag in my Media gallery and then re-inserted it into the post and republished, but the new tag doesn’t show up in the published post.

    I’m trying to update all of my Alt Tags to comply with ADA requirements.

    Hey @fiberartsy,

    Thanks for reaching out about this one! For Create, we don’t currently offer a way to retroactively add Alt Tags to the images in roundup lists.

    The alt text for images within the Create List is automatically set to blank on our side of things. We do this, because according to WCAG, images in Create lists are considered “decorative”. Images that aren’t important to the content itself shouldn’t need to be described to readers in order to be ADA compliant.

    With that being said, we have had a few users ask about getting the ability to add in their own alt text for images if they choose to do so. Our engineers and development team have been looking into potentially adding this functionality into a future release but at this time I don’t have an ETA on if/when this might become a thing.
