• While I can’t stand people that overdo it on the advertisements, I don’t see the harm in say one on a page here and there. This leads me to ask, how do you add advertisements to a WordPress site? The “text” areas don’t accept <script> and neither did the posts.
I’m new to WordPress so any detailed info would help greatly.
    Thanks a lot.

    Amber.

  • So are you saying that you want to be able to write a post, then copy and paste an ad into it, so it appears just for that post?

It would probably be far less hassle, particularly in the long run, if you integrated an ad script into part of your template files. You might consider just placing one at the bottom of the sidebar, or at the bottom of the page in the footer if you want it to be less obtrusive.

Also worth considering: having a consistent ad placement is probably more likely to produce revenue – assuming that is why you want to use ads in the first place.

    migthegreek,

    Thank you.
I wasn’t really wanting ads in posts, just an ad somewhere. I tried finding a place to put an ad but nothing would accept it. I didn’t think of trying in the templates themselves because I’m not familiar with WordPress.
Yes, the footer sounds more like my style. I’m not a car salesman – I hate feeling like I’m drowning people in ads, but that would work nicely.
By the way, thanks for the tip, always appreciated, migthegreek.

I was having a problem but sorted it already…
