    Hi,

    1) I downloaded the ads.txt from AdSense and uploaded the code to Advanced Ads > Settings > General > ads.txt. However, when I click “Save Settings..” I received the error message “The file was not created”.

I am trying to add the code as I have a warning “One of your sites is missing the AdSense publisher ID in the ads.txt file”.

Other than this box under Advanced Ads, I don’t know where to find the root directory of my WP site so I can add the code.

    2) Another error message is “One of your sites is missing the AdSense publisher ID in the ads.txt file”. I checked in my AdSense account, and the publisher ID matches the one under General < AdSense account. Could you please tell me how to correct this error?

I have read the articles about troubleshooting this problem published by WP and AdSense, but I still haven’t been able to resolve the problem.

Thanks for your help and time.

    Kyra

    Hi kyraoser,

    thanks for reaching out.

    1. I can see the ads.txt being created properly on https://www.kyraoser.com/ads.txt.

It contains the AdSense entry twice because Advanced Ads already handles it automatically and once it was probably added manually.

Do you still see an error message about the ads.txt not being created?

    2. The error message about the missing publisher ID in the ads.txt that was imported by Advanced Ads should be removed. If not, please close it. The error will still show for some time in your AdSense account because they are slow to look for the file. But they will definitely find it soon.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Thank you for checking these issues for my site. I just closed the error message about the missing publisher ID as you suggested. Following the closure of the missing publisher ID error message, the other message about ads.txt not being created has also disappeared.

I’m happy to know that the ads.txt was created properly for my site, that’s reassuring.

    Thanks for resolving my issue!

    Best Wishes,

    Kyra

    Hi Thomas,

I’m sorry to bother you about this again, but I’ve run into the same issue and I would appreciate your help. I received the same error message in Google AdSense, stating:

“Create an ads.txt file for 1 site

To prevent severe impact on revenue, download an ads.txt file then upload the file to the root level domain of each site:

    kyraoser.com

It may take a few days for changes to update. If you’re using another ad network, remember to add the network to the ads.txt file. See the ads.txt guide for more details”.

When I go to your Advanced Ads plugin, I don’t see a “settings” option where I can search for a place to add the “ads-1.txt” code that I downloaded. Could you please check if the code is working properly so I can continue to generate ad revenue? I checked the previous https://www.kyraoser.com/ads.txt link, but I am not sure if the code showing up as a result of this link is a confirmation of the ads.txt file being in current working order or not.

Thank you for your time, help, and for providing this plugin.

    Cheers,

    Kyra

    Hi Kyra,

    thanks for reaching out.

I can confirm that your ads.txt looks correct. The duplicate entry is probably due to the fact that Advanced Ads adds the correct line automatically and the other one is probably added manually. This shouldn’t matter though.

Does your AdSense account explicitly mention kyraoser.com as the domain that is missing the ads.txt or could it be another site?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Thank you for checking the link, and for your reply. Yes, the notification in my AdSense account did specifically mention kyraoser.com. However, the notification has now disappeared, so hopefully that confirms the problem has been corrected.

    Cheers,

    Kyra

Hi @milesto7, I see a working ads.txt file so you can close or ignore the warnings. AdSense is slow on crawling the new files, so just be patient.

If you have more questions then please open a new thread.

    Thanks,
    Thomas
