• We are using the plugin for our research groups publication db and it has been a great find. However, we would like to customize the output layout so that it appears as

    (Links | PDF | Bibtex | Google Scholar| tags:….).

For now, we have PDF and other urls within Links but we would really like to have atleast the PDF link displayed as above – in the first line without having to click on “Links”.

Is there a way to do so with the current plugin?
If not, can you provide some idea of what all changes we need to make in the source code.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Without code changes, it’s not possible with the current plugin.

If you want to add that feature, you have to change the function get_single_publication_html() in teachpress/core/class-bibtex.php. But there are some problems here:

    1. The next major version of the plugin brings a bigger rewrite of this section of the code, so you will have a lot of work with the next upgrade.
    2. Basically your idea will work if there is only one pdf or you choice to that you use the first pdf for the link. A user can’t select which one of the links of a publication he want to display in the meta line. So, this needs a better file/url management in the plugin. This is a thing, I want to implement in the future, hopefully this year.
