Adding a text area underneath Slider, above featured area

    I would like to add a text area on my homepage but am lost on how to achieve it. Anyone able to give me some pointers?

    where exactly on the homepage would you like to add some text?

    for example, if you want to add text under the featured area, open index.php and start typing your code above or under the latest posts code.

    I would like to add text that I can format, such as center and bold, just below the slider. And to avoid modifying the actual code, I’ve installed a CSS plugin. Any help you can give me is very much appreciated!
