Adding a site icon in 6.3

The answer to that depends on the theme you are using. If you are using a block theme, you can access the setting via the Site Logo Block in the Customizer as described here: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/50860#issuecomment-1559365586

If you’re not using a block theme, you’ll need to check its settings. Theme support will be able to help you with this.

You can also use FTP to store a favicon.ico in the main directory of your WordPress installation. This should also be found and loaded as a favicon by the vast majority of browsers, without any further settings.

I can’t find the setting in the site logo block to make that image the site icon. I was able to do it using the workaround listed above. Has that setting simply been removed from the site logo block in 6.31? I’m using Twenty Twenty Three theme.

What is the new correct way to load a site logo and make that the icon?
