Adding a new page appears as front page

  • Hello,

    I have a question regarding adding a new page. Each time i simply add a new page, using the default template, the new page appears as the front page. I’ve never had this problem before and wonder if you could please advise.

  • What is chosen in WP-Admin > Settings > Reading > Front page displays?

    Can you post the URL of your site.

    Yup. Under Reading > Front page displays I have set the static front page as my homepage.

    Hi LauraElite,

    is it an ordering issue? if you added another new page does that put it to the top also. There maybe somewhere in your theme that needs editing it orders descending such as
    “order=DESC”

    @lauraelite Can you try setting the Template of the front page (page ID 75) to Default Template.

    @lauraelite: you’re using a premium/paid theme. It’s best to go to the support site where you bought the theme for help with customizations and issues. You paid for support when you bought the theme, so you should contact the people who sold you the theme.     @mryawn: that’s not the correct approach to edit a theme; always make a
    Child Theme so your changes are not lost when the theme is updated.

    Thank you all for your help. I am using the free version of this template and so I decided to post my question here. I will keep plugging away and try to explore a fix. Thank you.

    We do have a section on the forums for the free version too and we tend to check it more often than the wp forums.

    Regarding your issue, you did any code changes or do you have any plugins that handle page templates? The issue is most likely not caused by the theme so it would be worth it to try to disable your plugins one by one and try to reassing the default template.
