Adding a Map as a Background

ad a) actually I havent seen an example yet where users have added maps in the background – this could be achieved (depeding on the theme) by some hacks and workarounds, anyway it is not recommended.
ad b) you can use your mouse/clicks to move the map, yes – have a try at https://demo.mapsmarker.com

i used div-containers to set map in background

example:

<div style=”position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 1400px; opacity: 0.5;”>[mapsmarker layer=”5″]</div>
<div style=”position: relative; top: 0px; width: 100%; height: 1400px;”>test</div>

the first container is for the map with transparenz, the second container is for the text with the same height so the map cant be zoom or moved.

you need to add pointer-events: none; to your overlay which will allows clicks on underlying elements. See https://robertnyman.com/2010/03/22/css-pointer-events-to-allow-clicks-on-underlying-elements/ for more information about this CSS property.
