• I love the horizontal scrolling on this theme, because on the home page you’re able to see at least three different topics.

But for the purpose of what I’m trying to do, I don’t want folks to have to scroll down to get the info under the large image. I’d also like to put panels of type on top of that large image. I can do it by designing type into the image itself, but I’d also like link capability.

    Thanks,
    Marisa

  • Hi Marisa – I would need to understand your goal a little more clearly to be able to help with this.

First off, could you confirm that you’re referring to single posts with a large featured image? For example, a post like this on the demo site:

    https://boardwalkdemo.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/hello-world/

I’d also like to put panels of type on top of that large image.

That’s really not how this theme is designed. ??

I don’t want folks to have to scroll down to get the info under the large image.

What about adding a link to the post title, that would link you to the start of the text? That’s called a “jump” link. That’s something you could do in a child theme. Here are some guides in case you haven’t made one before:

    https://op111.net/53/
    https://vimeo.com/39023468

If you’re interested in exploring a child theme route, let me know and if you need help with the code to add a jump link from the post title in your single post view let us know.
