Adding a lightbox to a template page

Hi,

Would like to add a lightbox (like the look of fancy box at the mo) to one of my template pages of my site.

What is the best method for this?

1) Download fancybox from it’s own site and add it to my template page, hooking it all up manually.

2) Simply download the plugin and hook it up to the page.

Is 2) simple enough to do? Is there a guide as I can’t find one in my searches so far. Or am I better off doing it all manually.
