Adding a Flash pre-loader to theme

Hi All

Hope you’re doing well.
My question is whether it’s possible to add a flash animation (.swf or .flv) to a theme, as a pre-loader, that loads while the site is loading? And if so, where in the code(which file? – Index.php?) should that be specified?
