Adding a dropdown box of categories to a meta box

  • I have created a custom post type called profiles and have a number of post type specific meta boxes. As part of the new post type i have created custom taxonomy so i can have separate categories for this post type. What i want to do is to be able to create a meta box whereby the user can select 1 child category (or tag) from s dropdown list. For example the Parent Category would be called “group” and the child categories would be “group1, group2, group3 etc”.

    Can this be done? if so, how?
