My hosting Dreamhost’s support notified me that an error 504 bad gateway occurs sometimes because of the plugin conflicting with the cache. They suggested to me “if there is a setting you can change or if they can push an update to make it cache-friendly by removing the <phpsession or cookie> on “every” page. Otherwise, perhaps they can provide a custom varnish rule also called a custom VCL that we can add to your server to make it work with our cache.”

    Hi @john985,

thanks a lot for the hint. I would be happy to implement a solution for your problem. unfortunately I am not sure what is exactly meant by “by removing the <phpsession or cookie> on “every” page.” Could you elaborate that further?

Are you using the “use backend cookie” setting?
