Added to WooCommerce 2.4 – I'm not seeing it

    On the Edit Product page, make sure the product is a Variable Product, click on Variations, and Expand all.
    There is now a Variation Description field:

    Thanks Daniel. That’s where I thought it should be but I’m not seeing that field. This is what I see:

    It should be right under Tax Class with taxes enabled.

    Try disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and see if it appears. The plugin adding the “TIC” field might be munging up the fields.

    Yes, you’re right. It turns out that the WooTax plugin that adds the TIC field is conflicting with the Variation Description field. As soon as I disabled the WooTax plugin, the Variation Description field appeared.
