Add X button to close popup or banner

    Hi, in Italy we need that customer could close popup or banner with x button without accept or not cookies leaving settings as they are. It’s coming an update of it? Thanks!

    Hi @francescoperego,

    The default behavior of the close button is accept & close. To change it and make it just close, please use this code snippet. Add the code to your active child theme’s functions.php to modify the functionality.

    Thanks for the workaround, but I’d strongly suggest to add it as an option in the plugin settings, since the new Italian Law REQUIRES that the Close button doesn’t accept anything by default… it’s an important part of the new italian privacy law.
    BTW: the new law will become effective by Jan. 9, 2022. Just a month from now.
