Add weight to options

  • Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to achieve the following: once you select some option it adds some weight to the product so that the shipping will be calculated correctly.

    was wondering cause i saw the “weight” option in the screenshots for the stockmngmt plugin?

    This is from a custom plugin I made for a customer, but it’s only used to display the weight, not actually for shipping.

    Are you currently using a plugin for Weight shipping price? And if so, which one?

    i would love to use it along with the pricing & conditional plugin to change my current productconfigurator, but the weight to calc shipping is a must for me :/

    edit2: actually, i don’t necessarily need the weight of the item, the decisive factor for my products is the size. would you think of something here so that i can calculate the shipping costs correctly when using your plugins?

    would it be possible, for example, that I create a variant per size and link it with the “stock management” extension of your plugin, would then the shipping class assigned to this variant be used?

    Ok I’ll try this code. I’ve tried with a few plugins, but they all handle things differently, so it’s a bit complicated to add compatibility with all items.

    would it be possible, for example, that I create a variant per size and link it with the “stock management” extension of your plugin, would then the shipping class assigned to this variant be used?

    If it is the size and not the weight, I suppose something like this could be done.
    The stock management plugin has an option to add the linked product to the cart, so it would apply the shipping rules for that I presume.

    You could test this by creating a test site on https://demos.mklacroix.com/wp-signup.php if you wish.

    The weight feature is almost finished, so will release it in the next week or two.
